Slots Bankroll Management

Slots have always been and still are a game of luck.  The idea of a specific betting strategy or formula in order to win isn’t going to help you that much.  You’re pulling levers in the hope that the reels and bars will align in a way that will give you a huge payout of $1 million.

However you also need to bear in mind that the odds of winning a progressive slots jackpot or winning considerable payouts that double or triple your deposits are still very low.  On to of this, the slot machines themselves will be capped at payouts of 80% – 98%, which means you won’t always get paid what you put in.

Nevertheless, there are specific slots strategies and bankroll solutions you can utilise in order to increase your chances of winning.  All of these strategies below are suitable for small roller slots players and can help to make your bankroll last longer.

Basic Slots Strategy

The basic strategy for new slots players is to make the minimum bet.  Once you win a payout you then bet the maximum amount on your next spin.  If you don’t receive a payout in any spin then you can reduce your next wager by one coin.

For example, if you bet 50 cent and lose than the next spin you will only bet 40 cent.  The main advantage of this basic slots strategy is that by betting the maximum amount after you win you has a chance of winning the biggest slots jackpots worth more than $1 million.

Up the Steps Strategy

The “Up the Steps Strategy” is identical to the Paroli Betting System that is used in Craps.  It is a positive progressive betting system whereby every time you win you increase your wager but when you lose you decrease it.

For example, let’s say you place a bet of $5 and spin the slots reel. If you win than you increase one coin up to $6.  If you win again then you bet $7.  If you lose, than you do the opposite and lower your betting amounts back to $6.  The main advantage of this method is that it will make your bankroll last longer.  The downside is that you can’t take advantage of winning streaks, special high roller bonuses or the progressive jackpots which require you to bet the maximum amount in order to win.

The 3 Star Strategy

If you believe that there’s more to slots than just “luck” than you might be interested in utilising the 3 Star Strategy.  Under these rules, you only increase or decrease how many coins you bet after 3 successive wins or losses. This allows you to take advantage of “hot streaks” whilst reducing your betting limit when the slots are cold.
